Here's a screen shot of the folder. They appear to be real folders rather than shortcuts.

This is a Marketplace airport, does it make a difference?

Last page of the manual, big red sign labeled "Marketplace Airports"

You should mention this on the product page and not only in the manual after people bought this product. >:(

My couatl isn't detecting my sim directory.  Current sim directory is D:/Addon Manager/couatl64, when my directory should be D:\Microsoft Flight Simulator. Is this why I'm having this problem?

Yes, but the line you see is not the problem, because even if it says "current sim directory", is in fact its own root, so it's right. The real problem is here:

RunningMode::pathToInstalledPackages

This indicates that, for some reason, your UserCfg.opt which contains the line with the path to the Community/Official folder, cannot be read. We suspect it's a permission problem because, we are doing some tests and, if we remove read permissions on purpose from that file, it doesn't crash, but it returns an empty string.

Is there anything unusual about your user account ? Like a limited user account ? What is your MSFS version, Steam or MS Store ?

There's a little utility from Microsoft here:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/accessenum

That can check permission on a folder and down. Try to run a Scan both in your Package folder, but also the ProgramData\Virtuali folder, it will tell you who has access to it.

Here's an issue I've run into. I have two sceneries by fsimstudios. One is Kelowna and the other is for Edmonton. The Edmonton scenery has a cyeg-airport.bgl which I copied per your instructions. The Kelowna scenery does not contain a cylw-airport.bgl file. GSX doesn't see the addon scenery so I have to relocate to a parking position that GSX recognizes. Any thoughts on this? The issue isn't GSX but the addon scenery.

No, I purchased it off of Orbx Central.

Well, it must have some kind of airport file. UNLESS, maybe it's just 3d buildings placed over the default scenery taxy/parking layout ? I think you better ask the developer.

Thanks for the reply. That could very well be. Odd that one of their airports has an airport bgl and another doesn't.

Ok so I did change the permission on both Package folder and my ProgramData\Virtuali folder. I still get the error. I also restarted my computer after I did this.

I need you to try a special diagnostic version we made, to show more about what's happening while accessing the Community folder:

http://update.virtualisoftware.com/couatl64_MSFS.exe

Place it in Addon Manager\Couatl64, post a new log made with it.
