The way GSX works is the baggage loading carts will leave the gate location (which they did at 1:30) then drive to Timbuktu to pick up your bags and then drive back.
Except this is NOT how GSX works.
Sure, during Boarding, the Full carts are coming from somewhere else, to simulate bags are arriving from some luggage processing facility instead of unrealistically pop-out in front of you, but those full carts are NOT the same that drove away empty!!
As already explained so many times, in Boarding you have two separate set of baggage carts, the ones driving away empty that starts on your parking spots, and the ones that comes from afar full, and they start TOGETHER, there wouldn't be *any* time saving if we never had the empty ones driving away, because they are not the same returning full.
Baggage carts will start from a parking spot of the "vehicle" kind, and like any other vehicle that "comes from afar" in GSX, they will try to take paths of the "vehicle" kind by preference, even if they are longer, in order not to clash with airplane taxiing on real taxiways, that's why there are dedicated vehicle paths in real life to begin with.
So, if the airport is well made, with vehicle parking spots arranged in various collecting zones close to terminals, that are also well connected with proper vehicle paths that will allow them to reach any parking spot easily, waiting times will be very realistic.
