Live update timeouts...
« on: August 09, 2022, 09:54:37 pm »
Greetings,

Just wondering if there were any issues with the Live update server(s)?  Trying to update and it's not progressing at all.  Stuck at 4% trying to download Couatl.exe.

Cheers!

*UPDATE*

Found out that my router, UDM Pro, saw this service as a Network Trojan/Malware and blocked the connection.

Ignored it and it's working fine now.

Cheers.
Thanks,
Todd.

I suggest sending them a false positive report.

I'm having the same issue, closed windows defender and malware bytes any other protection programs thinking they were the cause, but it will randomly timeout anywhere in the download, could be 4% into part1 of GSX or 50% into Part 3.

I'm not seeing anything in my router about it blocking anything. Could it just be server load from the GSX release?

Edit: I used a VPN and it downloaded fine, so it was either an ISP issue or maybe an issue with the download server near me.

What’s a good free trail VPN to download the files. My PC keeps timing out the download and it’s a real torment. I’m basically trying to reinstall GSX after the mess that was just released.

I was quite sure of that, it was just your local cloudlare node acting up. Or, possibly, your ISP, because I always try random VPN nodes from various countries, and they all seems fine.

This is highly regarded:

https://protonvpn.com

I'm not suggesting it just because it's a Swiss company, but because it seems really free with few limitations, and usually have good reviews. I never tried it personally, I use the commercial version of ExpressVPN, which is extremely good, but requires yearly payments.

I actually did some research on express VPN and realized it’s a good thing to have and I purchased a subscription. When I got the VPN I was able to download GSX with no issues I connected to a Swiss server. Thanks for the info.
