Author Topic: Live Update Crashes SOLVED (Read 1301 times)

I just had to do a reinstall of Win 10 and after installing FSX, I installed GSXL2 which did install without issue. To be sure everything was up to date, I executed the Live Update feature. The Live Update window appeared and I clicked on "Next" and the window flickered and disappeared. No update.

I searched the forum for ideas to try and did a anti-virus exclusion on Windows Defender for the entire Addon Manager folder. It did not help. Live update still crashes. I tried to find the error log for GSX but could not locate it. Any suggestions?

It seems an antivirus problem, your antivirus might have decided the official MS VC++ redistributable could be dangerous, since from the log it seems it's trying to prevent the installer from uncompressing it.

Trying to disable the antivirus and run the FSDT Live Update again.

Also, check you have enough space on the windows temporary folder. In case, try this:

- restart Windows

- run the Windows free space Wizard, which might clean up the temp folder,

- restart Windows again after the clean up.
