GSX CONFIGURATOR
« on: February 17, 2022, 12:53:12 pm »
Hi
have had many problems since the last update.
GSX Configurator does not work either for Aircraft or Parking Positions
The interface opens but it flashes intermittently and i am unable to click on anything.
I complete uninstalled GSX and deleted all folders
I tried to reinstall with the installer downloaded from the product page
When i tried to activate in addonmanager got the message that "Script had not started"
I followed the advice on the forum and uninstalled and reinstalled with my anitvirus turned off.
Had the same problem "script not started"
Cleared cache and downloaded installer on different browser
Re-installed and problem persisted
Followed forum advice and downloaded and installed the standalone addon manager
Re-installed GSX and it worked
However the problem with GSX configurator persist both on aircraft and parking positions i am unable to use it.
I did download a walk-on ini file to test and it worked so GSX looks ok just the configurator problem now
I have repaired or downloaded all the latest Microsoft C++ files
I have updated windows currently it is 21H2
I have performed a windows "scannow"

So i am pretty sure this is down to something to do with my windows installation or a programme i have installed
I was wondering if you had any suggestions for me to try

Regards

Vince

You mixed up a lot of issues in the same thread, like your issues with the Addon Manager, the message about the antivirus, the "script not started", has ALL of these being solved, meaning you don't have any errors at start ?

If yes, then why even discussing these issues ? The thread I linked was obviously to help you solving THESE issues and THESE issue only, once you clarify if you fix them, we might discuss your "configurator" issue AFTER you would explain it clearly.

But I first need to know if your installation has completed correctly.

As i said in my original thread "Re-installed GSX and it worked"
So yes GSX has installed and is working.
There are no errors at the start
Is there a way to see if GSX has installed correctly?

My problem that persists is:
When i open GSX configurator within the sim it does not work
The interface intermittently flashes and the click spot buttons do not work in both the aircraft editor and the positions editor.

You said so many thing in your post so, what's the point of even discussing something you already solved ?

If you don't see any errors messages while using it and if you run the Live Update it doesn't download anything, we can assume it has been installed correctly.

Finally getting to the only point of your post, you haven't said, for example, the most important information, like which simulator you use.

Ok, try this first, remove this folder:

C:\Users\virtu\AppData\Local\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\Shaders

On the next startup, the screen might be black for a while, while P3D regenerates its shaders. At the end of the process, see if it improves.

ok so deleted the shaders folder still no good
have then performed a Disk Cleanup in windows and a "delete generated files" in P3D, problem persists
any other advice?

Are you trying on an airport that was previously configured with GSX, or a new airport with no GSX profile ?

As you can see in this video, KORD V2 works just fine:

http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php/topic,26015.msg170692.html#msg170692

And if you followed that thread, the user reporte it was caused by an update of another app, and it fixed itself after a Windows reboot.
