I do not understand your problem, please provide some more detail.
For starters you will problably need to turn down or turn off you UAC.

If you are trying to add scenery into the Scenery Library and can not then see this

Pop, I'm using Win7 also. While previously using FSX Accel in Win7 FSX was OK it was the addon scenery that was bugging me by not working (specifically I needed to be able to use some NAS Nowra scenery). Try as I might it just would not work - so I gave up - whilst having to use FSX in Vista in another partition for this special scenery. In meantime I'm very happy to use Win7 otherwise. If you are able to get your addon scenery to work in Win7 FSX Accel please let us know. Tah.
Was using FSX in whatever directory/folder was default install in Win7 but now it is uninstalled.

Spaz,
How's your FPS with Win7? Just curious, wondering whether I should upgrade.

Paco, I did not specifically compare FPS Vista/Win7 (with same FSX settings etc on same hardware just different partitions). However the FPS was comparable. I would suggest don't upgrade to Win7 for FSX but certainly
upgrade to Win7 for all the other benefits
. It is a very good OS (Vista should have been Win7!) but of course Win7 has these small niggles. I would not persist with Win7 otherwise - Win7 is really that good. While Vista was that bad (until SP2 fixed a myriad number of issues).

POP, OK thanks. I'll give Win7 FSX a retry with Nowra scenery. Thanks. The original problem as described on the link was so baffling - and frustrating.
