Sorry...

when I first saw them I was on my iPod and not in the mood typing on the keyboard.

But this is what I would've said:

"Beautiful shots!  For night shots, they are top notch." ;)

Lindbergh72,

As we said, many times already, when you post screenshots and if you *really* want to use those slow external servers, DO NOT use the [img] tag, because you are forcing everyone that enter your post, to download all the images, which might be a nuisance, especially for those having slow internet connections, and/or connections that are billed by data transfered. Use the [url] tag in this case.

Or, use the forum function to post screenshots ( press "Additional Options", then Attach ), which provides for automatic thumbnail generation.

I already edited your post once, but you put it back as it was. I kindly ask you to stop doing this.

With all due respect, but that is a kind of a pointless rule. Why? Well, because when I decide to view a thread in a designated screenshot forum, I am prepared to see images displayed - it is more of a nuisance to click on every link for me. Things would be different in a regular forum, where images are not quite the norm.

Merry Christmas!

Umberto, most people have very good Internet connection, could you please change your "picture rules"  ???

when I decide to view a thread in a designated screenshot forum, I am prepared to see images displayed - it is more of a nuisance to click on every link for me.

That's not what I've asked: I only said the URL tag should be used ONLY if one wants to use an external server.

We have a dedicated screenshot attachment feature here, which is way easier to use than uploading to those server first, and than having to link back here. And that feature has automatic thumbnails generation, which is the best of the two worlds, because it's both possible to see the screenshots, and to decide which ones to see at full size so, it respects the needs of everyone.

But, there's something else, which is why I don't like the use of external photo servers: are you all aware that, by linking to those sites from here, by checking their http referrer logs, they can track all our users IPs, both the original poster AND everyone that just looked at that picture ? Data-mining us, getting idea of our traffic, spamming to me (as the admin) with wonderful ideas on how to increase it ?

It's NOT a rule. It's just a suggestion. If it was a rule, I would just get rid of the [img] tag altogether, by turning it off in the forum.
