How do you turn the TACAN on?

I am able to enter a TACAN freq, but nothing happens, no VOR display like I am use to, you know an arrow of some kind that moves when you change the CRS heading.  To the left of the entered freq is displayed "OF" and I assume that that means "OFF".  How do I get it to change to "ON" and how do I get an arrow displayed and on what display would it be on?  I am displaying the HSI and ACL displays on the MFD's, but no directional arrow, no VOR location info like "LAX" and no DME information.

The ON/OF indication it's nothing you can turn on by yourself. It indicates if the signal is received so, the only thing you have to check, is to have inserted the right channel number and band, or the right frequency.

Note: you can't usually receive TACAN/VOR signals when on ground...

Thanks, the problem was because I was on the ground, now everything works!
