I'm sorry, but I cannot replicate it.
The Marshaller always have some stop position. Whether this is accurate with the scenery used, it's another matter, but that's the whole point of having the ability to customize the Stop position in the GSX customization page, otherwise GSX will use the same default strategy of the sim, which will try to place the airplane center of mass in the center of the Parking as defined in the scenery AFCAD.
But this of course has always been the case, since the addition of the ability to customize the Stop position independently from the AFCAD, it always has been a good idea to customize stop positions, nothing has changed in the last update.
To be sure what the marshaller is doing, try to enable the Marshaller distance readout in the settings, so you'll see exactly where GSX is expecting you to stop, with numbers.
