P3Dv5 EGLL Default Gates + GSX2
« on: April 19, 2020, 05:27:18 pm »
Hello,

I have GSX and GSX2 installed. I started up P3Dv5 this morning and found there to be default gates at Heathrow. I went in checked "Exclude Radius" and put it to 4. After back and forth and increasing the settings. I haven't been able to get the default gates to go away. I am making sure to run the Control Panel before firing the sim back up. If I have made any adjustments.

Here's what it is right now with 20 meters set for the radius:

Control Panel:

FSDreamTeam Scenery Exclude is also turned "On" in the sim's Addons.

What am I missing?

Thanks!

Your problem is not that you have default jetways, but they are MISPLACED.

This is likely because you have an AFCAD conflict, most likely caused by having installed an AI Traffic product that is not fully compatible with V5 and, because of default airport database having been updated in P3D V5, every AFCAD out there which was based on a variation of the original default scenery from 2006, will not work anymore, and will cause misplaced jetways, double objects, default stuff showing up, etc.

Heathrow is a perfect example, since the default airport in V5 is VERY different than V4.

For the same reason, if you made a GSX customization ( .INI and Exclude ) yourself, based on the OLD default, it will have to be remade from scratch.

So, basically, to prevent this problems in V5, you must do as follows:

- First be sure you don't have ANY AFCAD conflicts. Check both your add-on sceneries but especially AI traffic products to be fully compatible with V5.

- After you sorted out any conflicts, remove your GSX profiles ( both the Exclude XML and BGL files ) and the GSX .INI file you made based on data from V4.

Yes, it might be unfortunate, especially if you use default airports, but the default database in V4 was really too old, so it had to be changed, sooner or later.
