relocate bagage "spawnpoint"
« on: April 01, 2020, 09:22:32 am »
note i dont talk about the spawnpoint at theaircraft.
but rather the  spawnpoint at airport. (return too)

example. at EHRD the gates are next to terminal and bagage train doors
Yet the baggaGE TRAINS go to the fuelstation area crossing 2 taxi lanes.
and spend a lot of time.  (read 5 to 12 minuts depending on airport) whitout logic extra

this is a just a example i have noticed this at a number of airports. hence i ask.
can we either get the option to relocate this in GSX or in a airport edit

If the scenery AFCAD is well designed, you wouldn't have to wait much for vehicles to appear. Just the fact you said GSX vehicles are coming from a Fuel parking, is saying a lot, since GSX vehicles will only use Fuel parking spots when there are NO parking of the proper "Vehicle" type available, which is clearly a mistake and, if they are lacking, it's likely Vehicle *paths* are also missing, so vehicles would take strange and unreliable routes, like taxiways, likely clash with AI.

That's why adding a custom spawn point wouldn't help much: if an airport is badly designed without any vehicle parking spots, it will likely lack vehicle paths too, so being able to add missing parking on an airport wouldn't do much if you wouldn't also add their paths.

So, basically, editing a GSX airport would basically end up doing the same job the original scenery designer was supposed to do in ADE, or that YOU could do just as well in ADE, which does everything you need to make the scenery working better with GSX. Which doesn't mean doing strange things, just placing all the standard features correctly.

Rather than being an ADE replacement to fix mistakes in 3rd airports, the GSX customization should rather concentrate on GSX specifics. We fixed some of the most glaring errors ( missing pushback preferences, wrong parking radius, etc. ), but if an airport is missing something as basic ( for GSX ) like vehicle parking spots or even vehicle paths, there's ADE for that, no use writing a replacement for a perfectly good freeware product.
