The guess with trying to re-install Offline hit the target though it was a bit of a trial-and-error to find the installer which was at least stable.

From my saved installers at first I tried gsx_fsx_setup_v1903.exe which brought back the Addon Manager and Couatl to the FSX menu, but FSX SP2 terminated after about 30 seconds without any error. It just disappeared.

Then I tried 1.9.0.12 which ended up the same, but with the installer 1.9.0.9 FSX is running stable. Sometimes I have to restart Couatl, but don't know why and when. And there are some problems with other Addons like FSCopilot or SODE. I really don't know which one and why.

When I start FSX without a network connection Addon Manager and Couatl are there and I then can even reconnect.

I had to re-activate all the installed sceneries but that was no problem to enter the Serial Keys in again. Hawaiin Airports 2 was corrupted but I could re-install it.

I made two flights from KLAX to KSFO and from PHTO to PHNL in a Wilco Embraer 190 and could both terminate without any problems so far.

I think I can now live with the situation and send this ancient system to the background again, activating it from time to time. There are more systems to manage here ;).

I am so grateful that you stick with me and my problems. Thank you so much.

Best Regards
Hans

Hallo,
I have a similar Problem running WinXP,
and I cannot connect to Internet.
Could you explain, what you mean, entering the Serial Numbers? Die you mean the offline method on the new activation website ?
This should generate you a key you have to enter in the addon manager Window.
Would this work with older via esellmerate purchased serials ?

I suggest reading again this thread, especially this part of my reply:

--- Quote ---I'll try to make it more clear:

- The ONLY way to continue to use your old purchases, is to use OLD installers (which we don't have anymore) and never change hardware, ever.

- The ONLY way to activate a recent purchase that came with a non-Esellerate serial key, is to use the latest software, which doesn't work in XP.

Really, you must update your OS, or you will soon find yourself unable to use any FSDT products you had.
--- End quote ---

So, I'll try to say it again, the lack of an internet connection is not the issue.

The issue is that Esellerate doesn't exists anymore, so you MUST use our latest software to activate, which works with the QLM/Soraco system instead, which also offer an offline activation option but, since it's a new software that must be compatible with current OS, there's no way it will ever run under Windows XP.

I See,

And so the serialkeys of the old purchased could Not be found at Soraco, typing in their Information Option.
Via E-Mail I accomplashed to receive new ones, but they look very different from the ones I received after purchase in 2011 e.g.
These new generated obviously do Not have to do anything with those of esellmerate anymore.

So I do Not yet understand the follows ;

So how could it be possible to re-activate, the old serial keys do Not work anymore...

And addon manager wants to activate after typing  serial, also the outdated one.
If Not, fs9 quits.
And an appropriate Computer activation Id cannot be received for this from Soraco, anyway.

Do Not  recognize what Hans could have done here ???

The OS issue seems to be .Netframework
It needs necessarily an new Version No more supported from WnXP.

That's normal, since the Soraco retrieval system will directly give you the new keys. However, the old Esellerate keys ARE recognized by the server, just not the order retrieval system.

Which is not a problem, you can use BOTH keys, since for each old Esellerate key, a new Soraco key has been associated to it, you can use either kind of key but, of course, they will only work with the updated software.

That message you quoted was from October 13th 2019. Back then, even if Esellerate stopped sales, their activation servers were still running, I think they ran up to the end of October, but I'm not sure. And if you read carefully, he had to run an *older* software, one that was still using Esellerate, which DID run with Windows XP and, even when using the offline activation, you still needed to reach the activation servers, by using another PC ( or a Phone ) that CAN connect to the internet, so he probably connected to the still running Esellerate servers and did the offline activation procedure.

Doing this today is not possible anymore, because there are no Esellerate servers anymore, you MUST activate on Soraco and, in order to do that, you MUST use the current Addon Manager, and that won't ever work with Windows XP.

I'll repeat it again, hopefully for the last time: there's no way to activate any product in Windows XP, online or offline.
