Another GSX Fault
« on: September 21, 2019, 08:41:24 pm »
Pushback from gate G95, Flightbeam KSFO. Using PMDG 777-300ER. Push going all wrong when selecting nose left/tail right. Hit abort pushback. Plane will not stop going backwards. Disable GSX/Coualt does no good. Plane keeps going backward. Had to restart the sim, costing me time. FIX IT!

Why not just customize it yourself? As it's more of a fault in the underlying ade for SFO, but you can adjust it the way you want it.

That was my intention, to do a custom pushback. I could not get the plane to stop going backwards. Slew/unslew did not work, pause stopped it but when I unpaused, it started moving on its own. Shutting the engines down did not work, nothing did. Restarting Coualt, disabling coualt, disabling GSX, nothing worked. What they need to fix is the plane moving even after selecting "abort pushback".

Yeah, same here.  It seems that anytime I customize the parking this happens.  Had it happen at RJTT and now at KORD.  Also with the latest update I can hardly hear the pushback guy, anybody else noticed this?

Re the error, I have an awkward fix that works when customizing parking:  I went to the \Users\Name??\AppData\Roaming\Virtuali\GSX folder and deleted the 'pushbackleftpos' and 'pushbackrightpos' at the gate giving me a problem (I only changed the vehcile locations, no custom pushback).  Then restarted couatl and the pushback worked.  It used to work soo good until about 2 weeks ago, bummer.

I think I'm including GSX in the backup from now on so I can revert back to a good copy.

OK, did some more test and I think I know what's happening (at least in my case).  First of all, after rebooting the computer my pushback voices work fine, no issues.  Now to the pushback, tested at KORD.

1) No change to gate --> pushback works
2) Disable the stairs only --> pushback works
3) Go into vehicle positions and change position of pushback truck --> pushback works
4) Skip over changing custom pushback positions and change positions of loaders --> pushback crashes !!!!
5) Instead of skipping of custom pushback positions actually set both of them --> pushback works
6) Setting pusback positons with new quick edit --> pushback works

So in my case it's only when changing vehicle positions and skipping over the custom pushback that then crashes the pushback.  Easiest solution is just the set the custom pushback position.  Removing the pushbackrightpos/left in Roaming works too but the couatl needs to be restarted.

Don't know if this will solve other people issues but in my case this worked.

My problem described in my above posts is different. Take your issues to your own thread.

I had issues with the same gate - just use quick edit! It's a game changer

Eric,

I'm not sure if these issues are related.  I had the same issue as you (plane rolls back no matter what) as well but haven't had it with the very latest update (a few days back).  Have you tried with the very latest update?

As confirmed in other threads, we are aware of this problem, and it's caused by the editor, which basically assumes when you enter the vehicle customization, you will always customize the pushback too

But if you skip the pushback configuration and just move the other vehicles around, the pushback positions will be saved in their "default" position, which is the center of your parking, which in turn creates an "impossible" pushback, since it would mean pushing from your parking to your parking again, causing that error.

This will of course fixed in the next update but, in the meantime, to fix the positions you already customized, setting a pushback position will prevent that error.

The fix will appear together with the ability to add intermediate corner points, to simulate more complex curves which cannot be made with just one point, and it should be out in a week or so.
