Wrong gate assignments
« on: August 24, 2019, 04:42:15 pm »
Hello. In previous version of KORD, they assigned so many wrong Airlines at wrong gates.

Now with new and better version, still they're assigning airlines to wrong gates. American Airlines owns the whole concourse and same for United Airlines. Do anyone of you know how to correct AFCAD or gates?

Much thanks with your help.

Gates assignments are correct according to real life information.

However, if you have more AI than free parking, the sim will start to ignore gate assignments, and will parking the overflowing AI into any space that fits the airplane, and will even start to use the Cargo parking, if needed. It won't discard an AI just because a gate of its own airline is not available.

To be fair, the airline parking codes does need some tweaking. Just from a quick 2 minute look around in demo mode I can see the following that of course can be fixed within 2 minutes myself. Air Canada including the regional flights mainly just use E2, 3 and 4, Alaska primarily parks at G4, Spirit uses mainly L9 and L7.

We haven't assigned specific gates of a concourse to some airlines, both because we don't have that information, but also because if we assign so few gates (even in reality they might be the only one that airline use), we can't be sure those AI (not all AI package might use real world schedules) would find a place at least on the proper concourse.

So, we used the officially available information, which usually say something like "Air Canada use the E Concourse", and added its code to the whole concourse.

If you know some site which list all the specific parking used by each airline, that might be useful to know.
