Boarding time
« on: July 12, 2019, 11:16:52 am »
Hi

Since the update 180 passengers are boarded in 20-30 seconds. How do I fix that. Also, how do I change the parking distance from feet to metres?

Cheers
Craig

Using the NGX and FSL A320 with between 160 and 188 pax boarding takes between 15 & 20min with density set at dense.

Having just loaded the FSL with 176 pax this took 18min

Check your couatl.log for the pax load detected or submitted by your addon.

Quote
Number of passengers provided by airplane addon =  176

EDIT: de-boarding took the same time

I've noticed that randomly boarding will be very fast, around 10-30 seconds. It's a shame the log isn't timestamped to check for sure.

Cheers!

This has been discussed so many times on the forum and no, it doesn't have anything to do with the update.

In order to see passengers, and to have them boarding/deboarding with realistic times, the scenery must have either:

- A least one GSX/SODE jetway that has been docked.

OR

- A SODE jetway provided by the scenery that has been docked

OR

- If the parking is not a gate with a jetway, stairs and a passenger bus must come

If none of these conditions are valid, boarding/deboarding of passengers will be simulated like in the basic GSX, and will run much faster.

I'm a little puzzled - I'm at airports without SODE gates (FlyTampa EHAM and your LSZH) and therefore it loads around 300 pax in 60 seconds? It definitely seems a lot faster than standard GSX.

If you log the pax loading times in your log I can show you.

Cheers!

Neither these airports come by default with SODE jetways so, unless you replaced them with GSX, they use default jetways, so passengers will only be simulated.

I understand that, but why would the boarding times be so much shorter? Is there a reason that realistic boarding times require SODE jetways?

Cheers!

That's because we didn't want to confuse users with two different UI for boarding time, the old one (used before GSX L2, where you could set boarding times) and the new one, which is only related to the passenger density.

However, the settings are still stored in the %APPDATA%\Virtuali\Couatladdons.ini file, and I believe GSX should still use them, on non-SODE jetways.
