Couatl Error after windows update
« on: July 10, 2019, 09:38:11 pm »
Hi there,

As the titel states I got some problems with GSX, because it causes P3D to crash every time I try to start it. So my first thought that it were my GPU drivers that needed an update, but that didn't seem to be the problem. Also updating GSX didn't work.

So I checked out the event logs on the crash(Which didn't have any message, it just closed) and it seems that Couatl is causing the crash.

Faulting application name: Couatl.exe, version: 3.2.0.4231, time stamp: 0x5d1784aa
Faulting module name: VCRUNTIME140.dll, version: 14.16.27012.6, time stamp: 0x5bc12895
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x00005b02
Faulting process id: 0x5650
Faulting application start time: 0x01d5375202ab8771
Faulting application path: D:\P3D Software\Tools\Addon Manager\Couatl\Couatl.exe
Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\VCRUNTIME140.dll
Report Id: f52876b7-c041-4318-b389-a62c67d557a8
Faulting package full name:
Faulting package-relative application ID:

So I looked up how to fix the CVruntime140.dll error, but even after re-installing it and deleting the updates from last night it still doesn't work.

Do you have any idea's on how to fix it, or should I wait on the next windows update, because I think that the killer.

The title of your message says "Couatl Error after windows update", does it mean you didn't get the crash *before* the Windows Update ? If that's so, how that's possibly "caused" by Couatl ? It's caused by the Windows update, of course, assuming the title of your message is accurate.

Which Windows update you are referring to ? The 1903 which was initially released in May ? I can confirm our software works fine with it.
