Updating GSX/SODE for P3D 4.5 HF1
« on: May 22, 2019, 07:08:29 am »
Hi, I’m getting several errors I think are tied to GSX or SODE, and I’m not sure how to fix them.  The first thing I did when I updated to 4.5 was to run the FSDT live updater.  I thought GSX and SODE would have been updated, but I still get an error in the green bar at the top of the screen saying GSX/SODE need to be updated.  I’m also getting errors related to runway lights and taxiway lights not turning on at night.  I was told this is more than likely a SODE issue, but I can’t find how to update the program. Please help. Thanks.

you can download the latest version of SODE from the website https://sode.12bpilot.ch/ and install it. It's a program on it's own, so there is no problem updating it.
I would do a clean reinstall of GSX as well, sometimes it's easier and runs better afterwardsd.

Pretty good advice, actually. Thanks.

thought GSX and SODE would have been updated

GSX doesn't need any update to run in P3D4.5. If you got SODE by installing GSX, you might have to update SODE, because our last full installer install the 1.6.3 version, but the current one is 1.6.4

That's not an error, and it doesn't say GSX needs an update. The message says that, *because* you updated the simulator, the default jetways has been restored by the update so, GSX is telling to use the GSX Control Panel to patch the default jetways again, without having to reinstall the whole GSX, otherwise you'll see double jetways.

I had the latest SODE, but uninstalling/reinstalling seems to have done the trick, along with patching the default jetway. Thanks!
