I use a stripped-down empty FSX directory structure called FauxSX to install FSX add-ons (so I can then port the installed scenery elements over to P3D). GSX is apparently detecting that fake FSX installation, and when I try to run the GSX Control Panel, it goes into a loop where it spawns an ERROR window that says "Cannot open F:\FauxSX\scenery\global\scenery\airport_object.bgl" and it keeps spawning a cascade of more and more copies of the same error window ad infinitum until the program is killed in task manager.
How does GSX determine that FSX is installed? If I know that, maybe I can reconfigure my fake shell so when I'm not actively experimenting with it, then GSX won't see it.
