GSX crashes every time I load the sim after v2 update

Since GSX was updated for v2 (it's worth noting I do not own or use v2), Couatl has crashed every time I load the sim, sometimes when it is still loading, and sometimes when I request pushback. I have tried running the updater multiple times, and a reinstall to no avail. Here is the panic log:

Which simulator you use ?

I use FSX:SE.

At the time I got this error I was using:

• Active Sky Next
• Aerosoft A320 Extended
• FlyChrono
• TFDI's SmartCARS
• LRM Client
• vPilot
• Navigraph SimLink

I thought I'd include them as the message said it was caused by an unspecified addon.

The scenery I was using was freeware off Avsim, and this happens with UK2000 and FlyTampa too. Everything really.

This also happens with all aircraft I use. CS 777, PMDG 737, QW 757...

There's likely a problem with your FSX.CFG file. Do you have (or HAD) the regular FSX installed too ?

You can try, but then you'll have to reinstall GSX, otherwise the line to let it find GSX its Simobject folder would not be there. In fact, if you already deleted, and haven't reinstalled GSX after deleting it, that's precisely what is causing that error.

It's best if you just post your FSX.CFG here. ZIP it and attach it to a message.

As I suspected, your FSX.CFG had an error, a "hole" in the Simobject numbering, so our installer won't touch it.

See this section:

The number 7 section is missing, which is a mistake. It should be like this:

Guess what.... it didn't work.

As you said yourself, it worked the first time, and the reason was clearly your corrupted FSX.CFG and of course it was fixed, as I said it would, when you fixed it.

If it's not working now, perhaps it's because your FSX.CFG changed again. Do you have some external utility that has restored the FSX.CFG to its previous (corrupted) state ?

I use SimStarter, but I thought I disabled that changing the CFG before I opened the sim.

Apparently, you don't. Or, possibly, the program is doing it anyway. In that case, you should fix the "backup" FSX.CFG used by Simstarter, in the same way you fixed the one in used by FSX at that time.
