I would like to request that after taxiing in to the gate and the marshaller indicates to cut engines, that the ground engineer approach the aircraft and communicates with the pilot that "ground power is available"; and if possible ground power does become available to the electrical bus. I a way similar to what is now available when the jetway attaches to the aircraft.
