RTT Jetway number flashing with SLI
« on: September 16, 2018, 07:21:06 pm »
When I try to use the RTT jetway signs, the numbers and sometimes the sign box itself flashes very rapidly (looks like at 30 Hz, the refresh rate of my 4K monitor).

I am using a pair of 1080Ti GPUs in SLI--if I disable the SLI and go to one card only, the flashing stops.

Also, on many of the signs, they appear as a black background only, with no text.  When they first come up, the text flashes briefly, then disappears.  This happens with or without SLI enabled.

Regards

Bob Scott

SLI is not fully supported by the RTT feature. We'll try to explore some solution to try later one. For the time being, disable RTT in the Addon Manager settings.

Could you please test this ?

- Run the FSDT Live Update, this will load an updated version of the Addon Manager .DLL

- Open this file %APPDATA%\Virtuali\Couatladdons.INI with a text editor like Notepad

- Look for this section:

[common_prepar3dv4]
antipopup = 30
viewoptimization = 0
altitudecull = 0
groundtraffic = 1
forceshadows = 0
capfps = 0
disablertt = 0

and add  this line to it:

rttsli = 1

See if it makes any difference in SLI. Re-enable RTT in the Addon Manager, otherwise it won't do anything.

No sections will appear if you haven't changed any settings in the Addon Manager, that's entirely normal, but you can create an empty section, like this:

[common_prepar3dv4]
rttsli = 1

Try setting it to 2. If there's no change, I'm afraid you'll have to disable SLI to have it fixed.

If I turn off SLi then I might as well stop simming because the performance drop on my 7 year old system is too much...

The are very affordable single cards which just came out ( the latest 2060/2070 Super, or the latest Radeon 5700 ), which can outperform SLI easily, without all the compatibility problems, without forcing you to always update video cards in PAIR, without consuming that much power, which in the long run would cost you more than just buying a better single card.
