Jetway types EDDF and KLAX
« on: September 08, 2018, 05:30:14 pm »
Hello guys,

I wanted to start with GSX 2 and replace the jetways in Aerosoft's EDDF and FSDT's KLAX, however I couldn't find the correct types of jetways (I looked at original airport pictures to figure them out, but without success). Do you guys have any idea if they are available in GSX 2?

Grey Thyssen in steel at Frankfurt, and white  JBT at KLAX.

- Rotate and move the jetway. In general, it's best to rotate them more in the outward position, so they must rotate a bit to reach what in your screenshot is the final position.

- Choose a different jetway model. Those with 3 tunnels are more flexible.

- Tweak the airplane Stop position.

But those replacement jetways have stairs on their side, unlike the real ones?

btw, that wasnt my screenshot

From your message, it seems you haven't paid attention to one of my suggestions:

In general, it's best to rotate them more in the outward position, so they must rotate a bit to reach what in your screenshot is the final position.

Instead, you placed them already close to their final position so, if the airplane door is behind that, they won't rotate to reach it. Basically, they are designed assuming they'll rotate in counter-clockwise direction to reach the airplane door.

Do you mean you don't like the stairs and would like to have jetways without them ?

I got another question. I tried to replace the standard Jetway of your KLAX scenery at Gate 82. However, none of the JBT jetway models are high enough to fit to the terminal attachment. Is there any way to increase the height of the jetway?

No, it can't, and the reasons has been answered here:

http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php/topic,18161.msg128163.html#msg128163

The Jetways we provided have different heights (Thyssen are higher than JBT) and we have two versions of the corrugated bridge, the ones with the names ending in _S are "slanted", which should ease matching the lower height JBTs with higher terminal buildings.

We'll add higher JBT models in the next updates, and likely our own customization for KLAX.
