No Addon Menu, No Scenery **SOLVED**

I purchased a new rig and reinstalling all my programs. I am running P3D V4.2. I downloaded the most recent installers for all the scenery. I turned off my virus protection before running the install. When starting P3D for the first time with the new scenery it acts as if it is loading the scenery but when you go to the airport there is nothing there. I looked for the addon manager in the drop down and it was not there, only SODE. Looking thru the threads I searched for C:\Program Files (x86)\Addon Manager\Fw1Fontwrapper.dll. This file was not there. Is there supposed to be EXE.XML and DLL.XML in the appdata/roamimg/Lockheed Martin/Prepar3d v4 folder because there isn't. I ran the updater a couple times and still no luck. What am I missing?

You searched obsolete messages, the Fw1Fontwrapper.dll is no longer required with the current version. And, we don't use the DLL/EXE.XML files anymore in P3D4 so, the installation is all correct.

If you are missing the Addon Manager or the GSX menu (or both) from the "Addons" menu of the sim, the only possible reasons are either the antivirus blocking the update, or a problem with your VC++ libraries, which might be missing/corrupted, even by something not related to flight sim.

Disabling the antivirus while installing its NOT enough. In addition to that, when the antivirus is suspected to be the cause of the problem (it's the more common one), you MUST also configure it to exclude the Addon Manager folder before starting the sim.

About missing/corrupted VC++ libraries. They are the 2005 SP1, the 2013 and the 2015 version. Our software doesn't require all of them but, indirectly, Simconnect itself requires it so, if one of them it's missing, you'll have lots of issues, and not just with our software.

Actually it was neither of the items you mentioned. Turns out, due to my own stupidity, I installed the updated version of P3D V4 over the original instead of uninstalling it. When I uninstalled the old and installed the new everything worked fine.
