As subject above, have tried reinstalling GSX and the Addon Manager but no joy. Problems started after latest Coutal update.

I would appreciate if you can help me with this problem.

The problem of missing menu items under the Addons menu it's usually caused by one of these:

1) Defective antivirus. Download and install with the Antivirus disabled AND configure the antivirus to exclude the whole Addon Manager folder from scanning BEFORE starting the sim.

OR

2) Missing/Corrupted VC++ libraries in your system. See solution in the "Addon Manager not showing up in P3Dv4 **SOLVED**" thread:

Ok carried out suggested steps in your post above but no improvement.

When exiting P3D V4 get an error message about Couatl scripting engine crashing.

Any further suggestions?

Please clarify. It's the normal Couatl diagnostic log, which let you see the error details, or it's just a standard Windows crash ?

Look for the crash in the Windows Event Viewer, under the Application log, and post here the error details.

That error doesn't give any clues, unfortunately. It's possible to log the startup, to see if it's crashing at some point, or it doesn't even start. Do as follows:

open the Notepad and type the following on a new blank file:

logFile=couatl.log

(please note logFile is written beginning with a lower case L and a capital F )

Save the file as couatl.ini in the %APPDATA%\Virtuali folder, run the sim until you see the crash, then exit. Check your %APPDATA%\Virtuali folder and if there's a Couatl.LOG file there, post its content.

Followed you instructions, saved the file as couatl.ini, this overwrote the existing .ini in the virtuali folder.
Since then I can't get the crash message, addon manager still does not show in menu.

But you should see a Couatl.log then, inside the %APPDATA%\Virtuali folder, after the sim exited. Do you have it ?

Are you running the P3D Migration tool perhaps ?

You said you have P3D4, but the log shows Couatl is trying to connect to FSX instead, which is the result of the migration tool playing with registry keys and the file executable version, to trick FSX installers to install into FSX.

Nope, never used it. I do have FSX steam installed, but haven't used it in ages.

As I said earlier GSX was working OK, with some issues, but after the latest update I ended up here.

I have the same problem... after applying the update this morning... Until the latest update GSX has been working fine

I have uninstalled and reinstall (with anitvirus disabled) same problem (No menu)
