Add on Manager issues?
« on: October 29, 2017, 01:55:00 pm »
Couple questions..
1- I notice that in the scenery library.. I notice that all of the fsdreamteam are at the top and you can't do anything with them like edit scenery or move up or down?

2. something about xml inconsistencies?

the reason I ask..in the add-on manager..it show everything active and installed except the KSFOHD is active but not installed.

Any help appreciated. I wanted to use Voxatc but the indexerer stops and I think it may have something to do with the xml's in the P3dv4 add on in Documents.

Thanks for you great products!!
Bob M.

s discussed in many other threads, like this one:

http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php/topic,16274.0.html

It's entirely normal that a scenery installed in the native P3D V4 way, will be greyed out in the Scenery Library, which is a way the sim is telling you that scenery is not loaded from the scenery.cfg, but from an add-on.xml package file, which is the suggested way to install sceneries in P3D V4 and, of course, it's nothing specific to FSDT, but it has been used by other developers, at least those that updated their installers to support the new system.

As explained in the other thread, the sim UI doesn't allow you to rearrange sceneries added this way (keep in mind that airports should always be on top), so you should either rely on installation order, and install all airports last, after any other scenery that can potentially conflict with them, such Global scenery areas, or use the free Lorby Scenery Organizer utility, which let you rearrange areas added this way.

2. something about xml inconsistencies?

There are no issues whatsoever in our xml files, provided you haven't edited them. In this case, the Lorby Scenery Organizer is mistaken assuming the encoding our files is wrong. An XML file can be of ANY encoding, provided the actual encoding matches the encoding in the XML declaration in the first line. If there's no XML declaration, the file is assumed to be UTF-8. This is official XML standard, which we follow.

It's the NON-XML files of the sim (.cfg files) that must be UTF-16.

Which means is all fine, and KSFOHD is not installed.

Surely not OUR XML files, which are surely correct.
