What's next for GSX now with P3Dv4 released?
« on: October 23, 2017, 04:06:08 pm »
As the topic suggests, what's next for GSX now that P3Dv4 has been released and we finally have a 64-bit platform with no VAS limitations and an overall what seems to be very stable platform with even more new stuff available to developers in the 4.1 update?

Is this when we will get moving PAX actually boarding the aircraft in the same way bags etc are already loaded into the cargo compartments of the a/c? And a cabin crew that finally knows what time of day it is to stop them from greeting the PAX with 'Good morning' when it's in fact late evening  ;)

Looking forward to hear what's around the corner for GSX!!

The next immediate update, which will be released very soon, will allow for 3 cargo loaders to work at the same time, in order to use the Main Cargo door of freighter airplanes everywhere.

We are also working on more complete integration with SODE and jetways. All the work that has been made to support the KSDF Cargo Stands, will have an effect on how jetways will operate everywhere, even if it might not seem that cargo stands and jetways are related.

But yes, surely the 64 bit platform would allow things which were impractical before, like visible passengers.

Note that, although we announced we would stop making new products for FSX, it doesn't mean we are dropping out of FSX entirely with existing products so, it will be a while before GSX will be a P3D4-only product.

It will be more likely we'll have P3D-only *features* added on top of it, like better Docking Systems, Visible Passengers, better animations (P3D allows for more realistic human animations), but the core program will still continue to work in FSX too.

...

Thx also for the update. Always VERY interesting to see what developers have in the pipeline for their product!

GSX brings so much life on the apron, i won't miss it anymore. Just imagine it would also serve the AI planes, what a blast this would be. I guess i could watch them for hours ;-)
