P3D V3 not starting - Scenery.CFG error
« on: June 04, 2017, 11:31:29 am »
Good Morning Gents,

I have contacted Umberto privately to arrange a TV Session, but I will still post here so that if someone else is having the same issue, he might be able to find a solution here once it is resolved.

I updated GSX yesterday, and since then, my P3D is showing an error while starting about the "scenery remote directory is invalid". I can't start P3D at all, and I suppose something has gotten corrupted along the way.

I have a backup of my scenery.cfg, but it's still not working after restoring it.

I have uninstalled all the FSDT products and FlightBeam, but still nothing.

I must have screwed up something along the way, and I am sure the guys at FSDT will help me sorting it out. But meanwhile, this is what is happening.

Take care.

Ok guys,

I kind of found the solution on my own. P3D had emtpied the entire scenery.cfg file. I restored one of my backups.

After that I realised that something along the way, I don't exactly know what... had added a "Remote=" line under every single area of my scenery.cfg.

I deleted the 200+ lines that said remote and started P3d again.

It now works.

Though it would be useful for to post it anyways.
