Already a thread on this with a very lengthy explanation about it. Hit up the KLAS FSX/P3D section for that, and what is being planned.

But let's get into it, shall we? I live in Las Vegas. So far with the scenery, the things that are "outdated" are:

1. taxiway A4 is now a high speed off of 7R instead of a 90-degree taxiway.
2. New Tower.
3. New T3.
4. Old T2 demolished.

That's it.

Compare that to, say, KORD:

1. 14L/32R: removed. Now a taxiway.
2. 14R/32L: shortened by 4000ft.
3. 14R/32L: gone. renamed 15/33.
4. 9R/27L: renamed 10L/28R.
4. 9L/27R: renamed 9R/27L.
5. New 9R/27L built.
6. new 10C/28C built.
7. new 10R/28L built.
8. New cargo ramps built.
9. Numerous taxiways rebuilt and removed.
That requires a complete rebuild of KORD, while an update can be done to KLAS. Additionally, the FSDT developers were already working on scenery that was even more outdated than KORD, and already have a schedule set for everything.

Finally, all of these, and as detailed as they are, take time to build. However, you are always welcome to develop your own if the time it takes to build the scenery is too much.

If with "new airports", you are referring to KCLT and KSDK, they are made by two different and separate developers, which are different than those who made KORD and KLAS which, instead, are the same people.

As Bradl correctly pointed out, KLAS has *some* things that will require an update, but that's hardly means that "everything has changed there". That would be more KORD which is why, we are correctly remaking KORD from the ground up, and will instead provide KLAS with a small, and FREE update.
