Marshaller impaled by Concorde's nose
« on: February 26, 2017, 01:51:43 pm »
Airport is Sim Giant's freeware GCLP. Gate T6. What do I need to adjust to prevent a fatality to the marshaller who was impaled by Concorde's nose?

Slightly tongue-in-cheek question that does have a serious side. Please don't tell me I have to modify each gate at the many airports I fly Concorde into?

Cheers,
Ray.

We already discussed about this in the forum, we need to make a specific case for the Concorde. We are rewriting the whole Docking system just now, so it will probably be fixed in an upcoming update.

Please do Umberto because Concorde must be the only expensive 3rd party aircraft that is incompatible with some aspects of GSX.

Later this year hopefully?
Cheers,
Ray.

Hello Umberto. It's me again asking again about making Concorde-X by FS Labs compatible with GSX. We had this discussion a couple of months ago and I was wondering if you've found time yet.
Cheers,
Ray.

We didn't had any updates since then so, nothing has changed since my last reply.

Hi Umberto,

That is disappointing to read. Can I ask? Is making Concorde compatible a major piece of work? A couple of hours perhaps or maybe a week?

This aircraft has been out nearly seven years now. I'm not the first person to ask for it to be made compatible with GSX. It seems everything else has a higher priority.  :(
Cheers,
Ray.

That's not the issue. The issue is, we have been working on a very large update, that we cannot release any small update right now, and most of this relates precisely to docking systems/jetways/customization, etc. We also updated all our software, the update server, and basically everything...

The Concorde is not a problem but there are specific reasons why we cannot explain why we cannot release an upgrade right now, which you'll surely understand when the upgrade will eventually be released.

That doesn't mean you can expect the Concorde issue being fixed in that update, but only that, after we'll finally released it, we'll be able to work on smaller updates and release them very quickly, also thank to a completely new Live Update system.

Thanks for the explanation Umberto. I appreciate you are working on a major update and wouldn't dream that you would drop that just to work on a single aircraft.

I'll watch out for the update and then allow a few weeks for any user queries to be answered. Then, two quote a famous line, "I'll be back".  ;D
Cheers,
Ray.
