Fatal error and CTD
« on: February 21, 2017, 09:17:15 pm »
Umberto:

I have read through the forums and understand this error is not related to your scenery. Most of the API.dll errors posted seemed to be with Prepare3D not FSX. The fatal errors  are happening when I first load. I began opening to a default airport with a default plane and I can get loaded once in a while. Eventually, especially if I fly into an FSDT airport, I get the fatal error.

I am running FSX with VPILOT and an ACARS program. I have installed the uiautomationcore fix. I am not computer savvy enough to understand much technically but if you can direct me to the proper threads I would appreciate your direction.

Here is the event viewer report for one that happened on loading :

It is incredible that you provide support for customers with errors that are not related to your products. Thank you for your work and I look forward to additional products you develop.

No, they surely are not.

API.DLL and SIM1.DLL are usually crashes caused by products trying to access and (especially) WRITE airplane-related variables. So, the first thing to do, is to disable all your 3rd party addons, one by one, then re-enabled them, one by one, until you find the problem.

You can disable/enable a 3rd party module, by setting the <Disabled> flag to True or False in the EXE.XML or DLL.XML files, located in %APPDATA%\Microsoft\FSX

Not sure why you think this has anything to do with GSX. See previous reply, from 6 years ago. I'm fairly sure, if this was really a GSX problem, somebody else must have noticed and posted here, during all this years.
