No Valid AFCAD Found **SOLVED**
« on: December 13, 2016, 05:52:19 pm »
Hi,
GSX won't start in any airport on my FSX-SE.  I get the above message.  I downloaded the Addon manager again and still the same.  It's ok on FSX boxed, but not on Steam.

Thanks,

Papagiorgio

In addition to the above post, I checked the log and some airports were not because of file size 0.  What does that mean?  Also, I own Kord v2 and that is where I fly from and I see no mention of KORD anywhere in the log.  I've attached the log file.

Thanks,
Papagiorgio

Try to select the "Restart Couatl and rebuild cache" option from the Couatl Settings menu.

I did that and the message was " regeneration complete with failure".  What next?

If you have logging enabled in the GSX Troubleshooting section (and if you don't, enable it and try again), the Couatl.LOG that will be generated at %APPDATA%\Virtuali\Couatl.LOG, should contain some diagnostic messages that should tell why the cache regeneration didn't complete. It's usually a corrupted file.

Do you mean Couatl ERR file?  If so, here is what it states,

couatl v3.1 (build 3536)
panic log started on Thu Dec 08 19:22:29 2016

problem raised by engine or unspecified addon
Application aborted because of C++ exception: <unknown error>
{'Airport': 'KDFW', 'Requested assistance services at': 'Terminal 3, Concourse K|Gate K16 (FSX Name=Gate K16)', 'Requested parking services to': 'Terminal C|Gate 2', 'User Pos': (32.97783700596566, -97.02947544386771, 557.811 m, 394.159 m, 179.81340904400182)}

I said the Couatl.LOG file:

Quote
Couatl.LOG that will be generated at %APPDATA%\Virtuali\Couatl.LOG

Which is generated ONLY if you have Logging enabled. That's why I said

Quote
If you have logging enabled in the GSX Troubleshooting section (and if you don't, enable it and try again)

I've had logging enabled.  There is no file labeled "log file".  I have 7 items in that folder when I open it,

Airplanes         File folder
Gsx                 File folder
Couatl             ERR file
Couatl             Configuration settings
Couatl             Text document
Couatl Addons  Configuration settings
KeyMapping     Configuration settings

Couatl             Text document

Maybe this is the one, and you cannot see its full name, since you have the option to hide file extension enabled in the file Explorer.

That was it.  The file helped.  I had to verify my cache in FSX-Se and then I had to reinstall some addon airports, now GSX works as it should.  Problem solved.

Thanks,
