Deicing_how to get rid of them?
« on: November 11, 2016, 06:19:46 pm »
How to turn off the Deicing Function? Okay- i can negate that Instruction - but i´m not allowed to start the Engines before Pushback is completed-  that is no joy.
Icing Conditions are not automatically dominated in case of low Temperature - everyone knows that!
I suggest you implement an option that the Captain may request this Service on his own descretion!

Thanks!

There is nothing preventing you from starting them anyway.

Yes-Jim, you´re fully on the right .. ;D
But i am thinking about a realistic Airport Ground Handling- and deicing is not practicable solely because the temperatures are low.
The decision goes exclusively to the pilots discretion!
So the enforced deicing from GSX is unrealistic!

I don't know what you are trying to say but, when the temperature is low, GSX will ask if you want to deice, with a menu that says:

"Ice warning: do you request de-icing treatment ?"

So, there's nothing "enforced" about that service.

Hi Umberto,
When I decline to de ice, I am still told to wait until pushback is complete and parking break set before starting engines by the ice man, but the wing walker tells me to start when ready.
Contradiction in instructions I think.  ???

So, the only issue is that redundant message from the deicer, since it's not even supposed to be played, but of course, if the wingwalker said you can start the engine, it means you can.

So is the message a bug (that will be addressed).  ;)

You can safely assume that, whenever we acknowledge a bug, even an extremely minor such this one, it WILL be addressed, like all other hundreds of bugs that has been fixed so far since GSX has been released:
