I think more because it has been discussed before, updates are in cue but there are many other airports to get updated ahead of YVR. You could set the gates in the airport file yourself using Airport Design Editor which is free, the only difference is that the gate signage won't correlate to the correct spot. I've done that since the day the gates changed and I haven't even noticed the signs not being correct.
