GSX Sound
« on: August 01, 2016, 08:19:09 pm »
Strange one this, well to me anyway...

I've been using GSX for years without a problem, but suddenly I can't hear the ground pushback man over my USB headphones although he does come over the speakers correctly.

But I can still hear the sound of his pushback vehicle over the headphones!

How can this be, please?

(Using FSX with Win7/64 and only a basic computer knowledge due to old age!)

Check if the correct sound device is selected in the GSX Sound settings.

Many thanks for your quick reply.

I have a SoundBlaster audio card and GSX settings indicate that this is selected.

This would appear to be so, as GSX sound (both mechanic and truck) can be heard through the speakers.

The bit that confuses me is that I don't hear the mechanic when I plug in my USB headphones.

Is there somehow a difference between mechanic and truck sounds, please?

If you can't hear a GSX sound through the speakers, it's normal you won't hear it through the USB audio device, you must change to the USB audio device first and likely restart it. GSX won't "switch" automatically between sound devices.
