CTD unusual
« on: November 14, 2007, 09:32:40 am »
Hi
just the description of the problem:

I already had the new addon manager (by Cloud9) --- and the FS9 worked fine
(I already use sceneries like BErgen, KLAX, EHAM --- also work fine i.e. latest versions)
I installed Zurich and CTD at starting up FS9 / no error message
I unistall Zurich and still CTD / no error message
I manually delete all three bglman files and reinstall the latest addon manager again ---- FS9 works fine again!
 ??? ??? ???
now it is your turn  ;)

I don't see were the problem is. You are saying that by manually removing the addon manager fixed your problem so now all the sceneries works, right ?

I'm not sure why it happened, because normally it shouldn't. I've just tried what you did, installing first latest AM from Cloud9, then Zurich, and all works fine already without doing anything.

excuse me
I forgot to say that I had to unistall Zurich as well, otherwise even a reinstall of the addon manager would not work. In other words with Zurich the FS does not start. It only does with the "old" bglman files but then I cannot register Zurich or use the demo mode as only the ground textures are visible!

So again
1. Without Zurich - with Addon Manager 1.36 FS9 works fine
2. With Zurich installed - FS9 does not start - no error message
3. With Zurich installed and Addon Manager 1.36 installed afterwards - FS9 does NOT start - no error message
4. With Zurich installed and bglman files (version 1.30) - FS9 starts but only ground textures visible - no demo mode possible and no registration possible
5. Uninstalled Zurich - FS9 does NOT start
6. Uninstalled Zurich and reinstalled AddonManager 1.36 (or older bglman files) and FS9 does start again

In case 1. and 4. all older Cloud9 sceneries work and are registered.

...and I really would like to add Zurich to my destination list....

I confirm that this can't be happening. You must have installed something wrong.

Try this:

Manually remove bglman.dll, bglman.dat and bglman_fsdt.dat from the modules folder.

Install Zurich 1.1 and don't install anything else.

In this case, you should update Cloud9 sceneries, because you probably didn't have their latest versions. Don't need to update Addon Manager, just the sceneries.

no they already were updated - it was that I also deleted the bglman.dat file! copying back this file made the sceneries appear again.
Thanks for your help.

Well, we fixed this anyway in Zurich 1.2, because the installer will also put the very latest bglman.dat from Cloud9 as well.
