virus detected in the new addonmanager
« on: June 22, 2016, 04:08:41 pm »
Hi,
I run the antivirus scansion of the latest standalone manager and avast detects Win32 Eorezo-FA virus, so i'm not able to install the new manager.
Any advise?

That antivirus is bugged, and has got a false positive. We digitally signed our files and we use an additional digital signature with the industry-standard Taggant system, which should help the antivirus not mistakenly flag a legit program as a threat.

Unfortunately, not all antivirus supports this standard, so they still make mistakes.

Download and install with the antivirus disabled. And configure it to exclude the whole FSX folder from scanning before starting FSX.

You must download the full GSX installer, the latest release notes for the latest update said that: you cannot just update from such an old version without the installing the latest full installer. No need to uninstall first, but it won't hurt if you do it.
