Removal of Terminal 3
« on: May 13, 2014, 09:12:52 pm »
Any way to get rid of Terminal 3 at JFK? As you may know, the terminal is just about gone. They will have aircraft parking on the footprint of were is used to be.

It should be fairly clear that, we are quite busy with KIAH release right now, that it wouldn't be possible to do anything else.

Obviously, every large real world change in an airport, will be under consideration for an update, but if you say they "will" have new aircraft parkings, it would be best to wait for official maps to be released. As of today, the current ( valid until July 24 ) FAA map for JFK, still shows Terminal 3 as it was:

Umberto,

The current FAA diagram does not have T3 and has the new RJ gates on T4's B pier.  Once KLAS is updated, do you think that a small update to KJFK can be done to reflect these changes?

Thanks and regards,

Corey

IF we manage to convince KORD users first, since we promised we would work on a KORD update, after KLAS is updated. The KORD update, of course, is WAY more pressing, since it changes the runways.

Hello, now that the FAA charts have been updated and terminal 3 has been officially removed and become aircraft parking do you think it would be possible to have an update for the changes that have been made at JFK?

See my previous reply. We have our hands full at this time. A JFK update cannot be started without releasing the more pressing updates discussed in that post.

With regard to the removal of Terminal 3, I am quite happy to have it there.  It is handy for when I am flying my Pan Am Boeing 707, DC-7, or B-377.  Terminal 3 was originally called "The World Port", back in the day when I was much younger.  It is a shame that GSX does not have retro logos for the ground service vehicles, and cargo containers.  It would be nice to see a PAA blue meatball on these vehicles, or an Eastern logo, Western, BOAC, etc, etc.
