Key functions different. **SOLVED**
« on: October 12, 2015, 08:29:16 am »
I recently bought your incredible FSX addon but am struggling to assign the keyboard keys for it.

My keyboard is a Microsoft Desktop Comfort 5000 on Win7 64bit and none of the keys given for Vehicle Locations actually work.
I have managed to re-assigned the top 8 on the Vehicle Location list to this keyboard but the rest are a no-go.

Is there something I can do to allow my keyboard to interface with GSX?

My best wishes to you all and I hope you continue with this great work.
Regards....Alan

GSX doesn't know anything about your keyboard. As long the keyboard works correctly in Windows, there's no difference whatsoever between different keyboard models.

If you cannot assign keys to your liking, it means they are used by something else, either FSX itself, or another FSX add-on, or even another software that is running in your system.

You simply must find free keys, that's it.

Usually, key combinations with TAB are free. For example, TAB+F12. Or, if some rougue addon is stealing the whole F12 key with no regard to modifiers, you can try something else like TAB+F

::) There are few, if any instructions for the Comfort 5000 Keyboard so thats my feeble excuse.

After using 'keyboard tester.com' I discovered two function keys F-Lock and Num-Lock which control
the F-key functions and NumPad functions.
Using these I now have full control of the keys as per GSX.

My thanks for your patience.
