KLAX Gate Display

I have had this question for a while but I just got my forum account activated. Anyways, at some of the gates (I'm not sure if they're at all of them), above the gate is a display that looks like it could display the gate # or something on the display. It looks like this (below) and there are those displays. 68A for example has the curved jetway ten right above that there is a darker kind of orange display. Is there a way to turn these on?

Those panels are inoperative. That's how the scenery is made.
