B737-800 Hold too small for baggage containers
« on: August 26, 2015, 05:41:10 pm »
Hi Umberto,

When GSX ground equipment loads the cargo at the rear door of my 737-800 the containers are far larger than the opening. See attached screenshot.

Is there any way to customise the size of containers to make sure they fit?

Cheers,
Ray.

Yes, of course it's possible, with airplane configuration editor.

In real life, 737s don't use ULD containers at all, and all the 737s supported by GSX are configured to not use one, and use only the belt loader.

HOWEVER, I found that, of ALL the supported 737s (default, iFly, Wilco, and PMDG), ONLY the 737-800 variant of the PMDG (other variants are fine), didn't explicitly exclude ULDs, so the selection was back to "Auto", which means "Depending on door's height".

So, even if you can configure it yourself with the editor, maybe it would be best if we had all 737 to work the same, and exclude ULDs on the PMDG -800 variant too.

Will be featured in the next Live Update, of course.

Thank you Umberto. My skills on tweaking such things are non-existent so a fix from you is appreciated.

I failed to mention that because I have Project Magenta Boeing software I use a 'doctored' but perfectly legal variation of the PMDG 737-800.
Cheers,
Ray.

Well, I'll try to post the fix today but, it was really easy in this case:

- Open the GSX aircraft configuration editor

- Click on one of the cargo doors

- Change the loader type to be "BELT" instead of "Auto"

- Apply the changes

Ah right. Didn't realise it was THAT easy.  :D I'll do that today, thanks.
Cheers,
Ray.
