Australian Operators Details
« on: July 26, 2015, 07:11:04 am »
Hi,

If you have time here are a few small corrections for the ground operators in Australia.

Cateering

QCATERING: http://www.qantas.com.au/qcatering/locations/index.html
Should only be Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Sydney

In all the catering listed below there are also international airports missing but I will only list the Australian ones.

Alpha Flight Catering: http://www.alpha-group.com/locations/
Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Coolangatta, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Townsville

Gategourment: http://www.gategourmet.com/about/our-global-network
Darwin, Cairns, Sydney, Melbourne

Gate Aviation: http://www.gate-aviation.com/locations
Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin

Operator does not exist in GSX (I understand if this doesn't get added because its such a small opr)
Broome In-flight Catering (YBRM only): http://www.broomeinflightcatering.com/#!customers/cdle

Most other ports in Australia do not offer catering or are serviced with vans/cars and carried up the stairs.

Catering Useage
All airlines use Broome In-flight catering at Broome
Qantas uses Qcatering and then Alpha if not available.
Virgin Australia use Gate Gourmet or Gate Aviation (Both Gategroup members)
Tiger Air – Various caters (Van)
Alpha Catering – Jetstar, Emirates
QCatering: Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, Cathay Pacific, Air China, South African, China Eastern, Korean, Air Mauritius, Philippine Airlines and Vietnam Airlines. (May be more, only ones I could find)

Ground Services (baggage, Stair & pushback tugs)
Qantas ground Service available at Brisbane, Canberra, Alice Springs, Hobart, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Cairns, Darwin and Townsville:
http://registers.accc.gov.au/content/trimFile.phtml?trimFileTitle=D13+22937.pdf&trimFileFromVersionId=1186023&trimFileName=D13+22937.pdf

Qantas also services certain third parties in Sydney (LAN Airlines, Air Niugini (And others)) Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Cairns, Darwin and Townsville (Air North)

Following are not in GSX
Oceania Aviation – Ayers Rock, Ballina, Brisbane, Coffs Harbour, Gold Coast, Hervey Bay, Newcastle:
http://www.oceaniaaviation.com.au/Career-Opportunities.aspx

Aviation Ground Handling – Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Miles:
http://avgh.com.au/contact/

Not in GSX and no picture as been found of equipment (I think its just all blue)
AreoCare – Adelaide, Brisbane, Broome, Bundaberg, cairns, Canberra, Coffs Harbour, Darwin, Emerald, Gladstone, Gold Coast, Hamilton Island, Hobart, Mackay, Melbourne, Mount Isa, Newcastle, Perth, Proserpine, Rockhampton,

Other errors with current Opr
REX which in the latest update was added to YBTL should be removed. REX is a regional airlines with Saab 340 being their largest aircraft they would have a baggage tractor and wagon at the most. (No Stairs, Push back Tugs, baggage loaders (Both types))

Minus the few driveable stairs that Qantas have at the airports listed above, nearly every other airport and all other operators uses mesh stairs (Jetstar, Tiger, Alliance and Virgin don't have any non-mesh stairs as far as I'm aware)

My own picture of a Virgin Australia 737 at YBTL in January 2014 with the standard Mesh stairs (note they are not adjustable and A320, B738 and E190 all use a different height/size)

If you want more pictures there are a lot on Google and i have a few more so feel free to contact me.

I think the list above is pretty good but its not perfect (I don't know much about Virgin Australia ground services). I don't know if its possible to add the mesh stair model but it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Brendan
