Missing Couatl menu **SOLVED**
« on: July 16, 2015, 02:25:09 am »
Hello all.

I have downloaded recent full build of P3D Academic version 2.5.12946

Already tried installing GSX 3 times (latest public beta build) after firing up P3D i do actually have the addon Manager entry and it says that GSX is Activated but my problem is that
The "Couatl powered products" menu is missing from the "Addons" menu.

Things ive already tried De-install/Re-install GSX  w/o AV software
vcredist_x64 and C++2013 repair install both x64 and x86
Fsuipc (latest version) also reinstalled.
DLL.XML and EXE.XML entries are present and totally fine.

Now i am running out of options. ???

Thanks in advance

GSX obviously work with all P3D 2.5x versions. If a specific version is not supported, you would see a clear error message when starting about the version not being recognized.

Since you have the Addon Manager menu, but not the Couatl menu, the most likely cause is the antivirus blocking it. As discussed in all threads about missing menus, reinstalling with the antivirus disabled is NOT enough, you must do the following:

- Download and install with the antivirus ENTIRELY DISABLED

- BEFORE starting FSX, configure the antivirus to exclude the following files from scanning:

YourP3DFolder\bglmanx.dll
YourP3DFolder\fsdreamteam\Couatl\couatl.exe

YourP3DFolder it's usually C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3d v2, if you installed it in the default folder.

- Be sure you exclude files for the real-time protection, not just for manual scanning (Norton has two separate settings, for example)

You must download and install the Couatl 3 Public Beta installer again, because we just updated it today.
