Path GSX Vehicles
« on: April 28, 2015, 10:56:42 am »
Goodmorning,
Sorry for my bad english i'm an italian user and i have a problem with the path of gsx vehicles. When i start a flight and i call catering service (first operation), near to the aircraft (i try with some aircraft for example the default b737) appear the luggage "trucks" that go to the airport and at the same time i see the catering service approach to the airplane. The problem is that the luggage trucks and the catering service make the same path and then they cross. This is very bad aesthetically. Is it possible that the catering service and the luggage trucks make two different path so they don't cross?
An other problem is that when the catering service go away, it crosses the wing of the airplane. Thank's to all and sorry for my bad english!

The catering service and the luggage cart do not use the same path, because the catering comes from away, and go to the service doors, while the luggage carts starts from the parking and go to the cargo doors so, it's not possible they would do the same path.

Using the included GSX scenery customization page, it's possible to reduce the chance for different vehicles to clash into each other or into static scenery objects, by changing their default startup position on the gate.

In addition to that, the catering service doesn't go under the airplane wing and nobody ever reported this before, but in some cases, this might be caused by a bad AFCAD, like one having nodes inside parkings, or orphaned nodes, double nodes, or similar errors, but it's not possible to be sure if you don't clearly identify which scenery you used, and which gate you used.

Hi Umberto thank's for reply!
In this images you can see my first problem. The first operation that i do it's request catering service (i skipped the request deboarding).

This is Malaga airport and it is a default airport. I have this problem in all airports.

The second problem (catering service that cross the wing of airplane) i realized that on the b737 default there is no problem. I'ts a problem for an airbus a319 EasyJet of François Dorè and i see that this airplane there isn't in the list of supported aircraft . Sorry

Your screenshots indicates a different problem: you said catering and luggage vehicles used the "same" path, but they aren't, they go in opposite directions and in different parallel paths (spaced a certain distance) over a path reserved for vehicles, which is obviously the only correct path to use.

The only issue is that, since in THAT particular space (so the problem cannot obviously happen at all airports or even at all parkings on a same airport), the path takes a 90 degrees turn, the distance between the right/left lanes doesn't seem to give enough clearance for the luggage cart to turn without clashing into the catering vehicle.

As explained many times already on the forum, GSX vehicles are NOT aware of each other. Doing this would create way more problems (traffic deadlocks) than it would solve, and would have lots of problems working on all airports. They are generally prevented to clash into each other by means of some programmed time delays between services or by their starting positions.

In this case, since the catering vehicle doesn't go away until YOU close the service doors, you also have a chance to reduce conflict, for example waiting a bit more to send them away, after the luggage carts have cleared the area for example. At least in THESE specific case, where's there's a 90 degree turn on the vehicle path, which could be difficult to handle (in real life, one of them would probably give precedence to the other).

We'll have a look if this could be further prevented by increasing the distance between the two lanes.
