GSX no longer working P3D **SOLVED**

Hi,

After the problems ASN created with my XML files, GSX no longer works. Have changed the XML files back to ANSI and other addons now work again.

Tried reinstailing GSX, no errors in the installer, but still no GSX or Coutal engine in the addons.

The usual question: do you have BOTH the "Addon Manager" AND the "Couatl powered products" under the FSX "Addons" menu ? Do you miss one of them, or both ?

In the other thread about the corruption created by ASN, it has been reported by another user that JUST running ASN would corrupt the file so, even if you reinstall something, but launch ASN afterwards, the XML will be corrupted again. At least, this is what another user reported there.

- DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL with the antivirus entirely OFF

- Uninstall GSX. Reply YES when asked if you want to remove the Addon Manager and the Couatl Engine. Reply YES to both questions.

- TURN OFF your antivirus. Don't just exit from its interface, but turn off the real time protection. Actual wording changes between products, however, it's the option to scan every file that gets open in real time, without user intervention.

- Reinstall GSX with the Antivirus TURNED OFF. Don't launch P3D yet.

- Configure the antivirus to exclude the following files from scanning:

YourP3DFolder\bglmanx.dll
YourP3DFolder\fsdreamteam\Couatl\couatl.exe


- Now you can turn the antivirus back on, and launch P3D.

- Check you are seeing BOTH the "Addon Manager" menu AND the "Couatl powered products" menu under the "Addons" menu

Removing and re-installing the addon manager too solved the problem.
