Is anyone working on a KPDX Scenery?
« on: March 19, 2015, 06:34:14 pm »

This isn't meant to add any pressure or anything onto FSDT for scenery, but just a question in general.

Does anyone know if any scenery is being worked on or has been made for KPDX in either FSX or P3D?

I ask, because the last one I had was for FS9, which definitely doesn't work in either FSX or P3D, FlightZone 2 is completely out of business, and Orbx has the cityscape available, but nothing really on the airport. I have some phenomenal packages for Troutdale, Hillsboro, and the surrounding smaller fields (Scappoose, Pearson, McMinnville, etc.), but nothing for the major field there.

So does anyone know if there is scenery available for this, or is this currently just a void between KSEA and KSFO?

fsdreamteam has several unannounced projects, and taxi2gate has also been known to release secret airports after completing big airports.

it could be fsdreamteam, it could be taxi2gate, but i dont know for sure.

what i do know is someone is working on it. why?

well, i asked latinvfr about PDX, and they did consider it, but then they told me that someone "well known" is working on it.

Oh, I hope it's FSDT.  Either way, can't wait to get PDX!!!!.  Thanks for the info.

It's not us, even if we also consider it for a while, mostly because it's a nice area to fly in.

I miss the old Flightzone KPDX. It was one of the best scenery packages ever made for FS9. I'm actually surprised this one hasn't been done by either FSDT,  Flightbeam,  FlyTampa or T2G yet.

I'm still hoping that the secret FSDT airport that was announced years ago is KATL. Even though IS is making yet another version of it,  I don't hold any hope that it will perform as well as an FSDT version would, or look as good.

What is this, their third or fourth attempt at Atlanta?  I know they've gotten better over the years, but seriously?

Their 3rd attempt.

Fifth actually, if you add up Cal's 2 attempts under Simplyers' name for FS2000-FS2004 :-)

Practice makes perfect, I guess... maybe this time will be the charm and we'll get some semblance of quality.

Sorry (a little) for digging up this less-than-fresh topic, but I don't think I ever did figure out who the 'well-known' developer is that is working on this....  Any clues?  It's not IDS, is it?

I don't think it's IDS, I think they're the ones working on EWR, but I did find that Glenn Johnson who released a bunch of freeware airports and just released his first payware is working on a PDX:

Not sure though though that this would be the "well-known developer" working on it, of course it still could be FSDT right?

If they are, they haven't started it.  They're working on Sacramento and Manchester.

This is what he's talking about

SMF is almost done, and they just released NAS recently, so since they were at one time working on four airports at one time, I guess it would be plausible that they could be working on EWR

Someone is working on an updated KSMF? Where might this be?
