Thanks for replying well to me the reset gsx feature is used a lot by me especially when I switched to fsx steam having to configure most again scenery via gsx scenery editor (jetways /pax bus / pushback diction)
If you had a lot of scenery customizations made in FSX, they would continue to work under Steam, because they are stored in *your* %APPDATA%\Virtuali\GSX folder, not the sim folder, so GSX will always read them from there. Of course, if you reinstalled Windows, you should have *saved* your previous GSX airport customizations, so you didn't had to restart from scratch again.
But yes, the only time I think the "Restart Couatl" option will be used a lot, is when editing a scenery. But this is another thing we should fix instead: NOT having to "Restart Couatl" after having customized a scenery.
or when gsx gets stuck on waiting for other services to complete where as in boxed fsx I just could reset gsx and not the whole sim
That's what I've said, the "Restart Couatl" option IS useful (otherwise we wouldn't add it), but it's not as if GSX always gets stuck, it's not a normal occurrence and it happens very rarely, normally you don't need to Restart Couatl
If you find GSX *always* gets stuck, then please report it in a separate thread, indicating the airport, the airplane, any customization you made, etc. because it's surely not normal to have to rely on the "Restart Couatl" very often, except when editing a scenery.
