Menu display **SOLVED**
« on: January 27, 2015, 12:14:52 pm »
Hello,

sorry for my English, but I translate by Google!

I bought GSX KJFK and KLAX, but after installation, no menu appears on FSX.

I tried to delete files, disable antivirus Avast, reinstall, I have traveled the forum, try several solutions, but nothing works.

I leave it to you, and thank you for taking the time to answer me.

Sincerely
Roch

I bought GSX KJFK and KLAX, but after installation, no menu appears on FSX.

What menu are you referring to ?

- The GSX menu that comes out when pressing CTRL+F12

OR

- The "Addon Manager" menu under the FSX "Addons" menu

OR

- The "Couatl powered products" menu under the FSX "Addons" menu

Which one of these you are missing ?

A menu does not appear in FS Addon!
CTRL+F12 doesn't work
Addon Manager doesn't appear and couatl doesn't appear to!

Addon Manager doesn't appear and couatl doesn't appear to!

this thread indicates all the known solutions for missing menu items under the "Addons" menu:

It does not work.
My procedure:
- Uninstall all products FSDT
- I switch off my anti virus
- I install GSX
- I exclude AVAST bglmanx file and couatl
- I run FSX without activating Avast
- "Addon Manager" and "Couatl powered products" do not appear

C ++ 2005 is updated

We will get there!

It does not work.

Have you been ASKED permission to run BOTH modules when you reinstalled FSX ?

If not, it's either one of the following things:

- You have missed this step:

Quote
Uninstall GSX. Reply YES when asked if you want to remove the Addon Manager and the Couatl Engine. Reply YES to both questions.

OR

- Your antivirus is still blocking the files

OR

- Your VC++ libraries have a problem. As clearly indicated in that thread, it's not enough to have them "updated". If you have a problem with them, you must uninstall all the runtimes, and install the ones linked in that thread.

I never had any problem with any addon!

I installed over 100 airports and PMDG 777, Wilco, etc., never had any problems.

I install FSDT and I meet great difficulties.

As computer novice, you have a simple solution?

I have uninstalled all, and delete by YES when it was requested.

When I install again, he does not ask me to enable or module permission.

Thank you for your quick response.

When I install again, he does not ask me to enable or module permission.

If you sure you replied YES to the uninstall questions, that leaves only two possible choices:

- Your antivirus is still blocking the files.

OR

- Your VC++ libraries have a problem. As clearly indicated in that thread, it's not enough to have them "updated". If you have a problem with them, you must uninstall all the runtimes, and install the ones linked in that thread.

If you really cannot do it yourself, we can offer direct support with Teamviewer. Contact me with a PM ( Private Message ) to arrange that.

Okay, I'll find my way on C ++, which for me is the language that I do not understand!

This is not mentioned before the purchase of products (or I have not seen!), The fact to uninstall and reinstall the new will not have to worry about my other scenes or addon?

Okay, I'll find my way on C ++, which for me is the language that I do not understand!

You don't need to worry about the C++ languages, you must just be sure the runtimes redistributable, which are part of a standard Windows installation, are correctly installed and not missing/corrupted.

This is not mentioned before the purchase of products (or I have not seen!)

It's not mentioned, for two obvious reason:

1) On a normally installed and normally running Windows system, the runtimes are supposed to be working, and if they are missing, our installer automatically installs them. If they don't work on YOUR system, it's an exception and a problem, not the normal case. Which brings to point #2

2) As clearly explained all over our website ALL our products are available in TRIAL VERSION, which means you are supposed to install, test them and THEN purchase them. The point of offering a Trial version, is that you can check if the product works on YOUR system, so you can check if there are problem with your system configuration and the addons BEFORE purchasing.

The fact to uninstall and reinstall the new will not have to worry about my other scenes or addon?

If with "the new", you mean the correct version of the VC++ runtimes, they shouldn't have any effect on other installed products. In fact, they might even fix problems, even in products that don't have anything to do with FSX.

But again, if you really cannot fix it yourself, we can offer direct support with Teamviewer. Contact me with a PM ( Private Message ) to arrange that.

After having a Teamviewer session, we found the problem, and it was caused by the user having un-trusted us in his system, so nothing signed by us would ever run, as explained here under point #4

http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php/topic,7545.msg62899.html#msg62899

4) You have inadvertently Un-trusted us as a Publisher, so nothing signed by us will run.

To fix this, go to the Control Panel, under "Internet Options", look for the "Content" tab, there should be a "Publishers" button, that will list the software publishers that you trusted, and another tab with untrusted publishers. If you see "Virtuali s.a.s", remove it from both tabs (especially if it's under untrusted)
