RuntimeError: cruise speed must be positive
« on: December 14, 2014, 10:18:23 am »
Hello fsdreamteam!

I am enjoying your product very much since 1 1/2 years. Not a single major problem! Applause!  :D
But this Friday I had the first bug window on my PC  screen.
Location: NCRG (Rarotonga Intl), Cook Islands, GATE G 2 (I had resized this gate via the GSX customize function with the little Aircraft symbol)

I tried the scenario four times, always with the same results. (After having called the catering truck for the PMDG T7F):
https://dl.dropbox.com/s/33luve0g203lr8r/gsx-ncrg-catering-error.PNG?dl=0

The couatl.err document content always showed this message:

couatl v2.0 (build 2370)
panic log started on Sun Dec 14 09:41:27 2014

problem raised by addon <unknown>Traceback (most recent call last):
File "couatl\common\fsm.py", line 67, in executeDoFuncToCompletion
File "couatl\GSX\assistanceServices\catering.py", line 191, in do
File "couatl\GSX\assistanceServices\baseAssistanceVehicle.py", line 205, in do
File "couatl\common\simObjectMoverIK.py", line 286, in run
RuntimeError: cruise speed must be positive

So "no food" for the pilots on this cargo flight  ;)

Greetings,

Claus

This issue has been discussed many times already ( you could have searched the forum for "cruise speed must be positive" ), for example here:

http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php/topic,10287.msg80270.html#msg80270

This error indicates the scenery AFCAD has an error, like overlapping nodes, orphaned nodes, unconnected links, unreachable parkings, etc. You might try to fix it using the ADE or AFX "Fault Finder" options, or at least having an idea what's wrong with the AFCAD, and report it to the developers.

Thank you very much for the prompt and detailed support! Will try the search next time.  8)

I just was so surprised about experiencing a bug at all within GSX, which - as I know now - actually was caused by FSX's default AFCAD!  :)

Are you sure it's unmodified default AFCAD and GSX is using that one ? You can check which AFACD is in use by GSX with the "Customize airport positions" menu entry under the Couatl menu.

Once you confirmed it's a default AFCAD, and it hasn't been modified, please indicate all the following:

- The airport used

- The gate used

- The airplane used

- The sequence of operations you did in GSX to have that error.
