Aerosoft Airbus X A318 A319 Config Files
« on: September 28, 2014, 05:49:00 am »
Hi everybody:

Glad to share with the GSX community the gsx.cfg files for the wonderful Airbus X A318 A319 from Aerosoft recently released. Just change the names of the gsx files and put each of them in the aircraft's respective folder in the Virtuali folder.

Thank you for the files, but the Airbus A318/319 were added with GSX natively with the latest Live Update.

Probably the list of GSX supported airplanes needs an update too.

Sure, although the latest Live Update release notes, which can be checked directly in FSX when the Live Update is notified, included the addition of the A318/319.

Yes, right. I updated to the latest live update (from within FSX), read the change log and all went fine.
Thanks,
Edward

I´ve the last live update, but in P3D and FSX, with Aerosoft A318/A319, I only see one small crew transporter, no passenger buses, and one small cargo loader. Diferent from AAX A320 where I can see all the vehicles. What went wrong?

As explained on the manual, GSX changes the type of passenger vehicle (bus or small van) depending on the estimated number of passengers on board, which is calculated by dividing the actual load by 200 lbs, which is an industry standard estimate of the average weight of a passenger + luggage. So, if GSX thinks you have very few passengers on board, it means you haven't loaded your airplane, so it's empty.

Thanks for the answer, but i do the same to the AAX A320,  I load the airplane with the Aerosoft Airbus aplication, and in the A320 i have the buses but in the A319 i don´t. I go to the MCDU and load the cargo and passengers, and the zfw is correct.

I can't see why this can be a GSX problem: GSX just reads the actual payload from FSX using Simconnect, and it does it in the same way, regardless of the aircraft used, and it's not affected by the aircraft customization, it's entirely standard method, and since you said yourself it works with the A320, there's no reason why it won't with the A318, the only possible explanation is that the airplane WAS empty, for some reason, at least this is what the airplane reported to FSX.

And of course, just to be sure, I tried it both with the A318 and the A319, and there are no problems whatsoever, I can see the normal baggage train with 3 wagons, and the large passenger bus (which of course won't appear if there's a jetway), meaning GSX has got a normal payload figure from FSX, as it always did. No difference if I use or not the supplied fuel/load planner, it works in both cases.

I've got the problem too. I also can only see a small van instead of a bus, despite of having loaded the plane(s) A318/19 with lots of passengers. After restarting GSX it seems to work, as in all (most?) cases the bus appears. Strange....

I can only repeat and confirm my previous reply: it's cannot be a GSX problem, it's the airplane that somehow changes its weight along the procedure. GSX just reads it from FSX using the one and only standard Simconnect way to check for the airplane weight.

Meanwhile I think, I can explain what is happening to many users and what happened to me as well.

Starting a session in FSX we choose the plane, the airport, the gate or parking place, the weather and finally day and hour. Then, during preparing the flight plan (e.g. by using a tool like Aivlasoft EFB or similar), we oftenly start GSX Catering procedure. Having finished flight plan we load the FMC, and by doing so, we load the plane as well, that means passengers and freight. Meanwhile Catering is over and we ask GSX for Boarding. Then the bus arrives. Normally this sequence is working properly with all planes and Add Ons, but not in case of the Aerosoft A318/319.

Here you have to load the plane with passengers and freight first, before you start any GSX activity!! If you take that into consideration, the bus always appears, not the van (supposed, there are enough passengers as indicated by the administrator).

Please correct me, if I'm wrong. Thanks.
