Can I Disable GSX GS temporarily?
« on: August 24, 2014, 05:39:50 am »
Hi Folks,
I'm doing a some troubleshooting on an unrelated issue but I need to disable/turn off as many of the FSX Add-ons as possible in an attempt to isolate any potential influences. I would really prefer not to remove any of these programs, including the GSX Ground Services if I can help it.

Is there a way to turn off GSX GS and the included Updater, (the entire Couatl engine works), so that it doesn't start up at all when the FSX program opens?
Thanks,
Rich

You can disable any add-on by setting the

<Disabled>True</Disabled>

line in the DLL.XML or EXE.XML. In case of GSX, you must disable couatl.exe in the %APPDATA%\Microsoft\FSX\EXE.XML, this will disable GSX and any FSDT product too. If might also try disabling the Addon Manager ( bglmanx.dll ) in the DLL.XML file.
